Eligible Relationships:

Eligibility:

Your parents or grandparents
Your spouse's/partner's parents or grandparents

👥 Other Relatives (Rare Cases)

You can sponsor one relative of any age if:

⚠️ Sponsorship Undertaking - Legal Obligation

When you sign the sponsorship agreement, you make a legal promise to:

Financially support sponsored person(s) for the undertaking period
Repay any social assistance they receive during undertaking period
Provide basic needs: Food, clothing, shelter, personal requirements

Undertaking Periods:

Spouse/partner: 3 years from date they become PR
Dependent child under 22: 10 years or until age 25 (whichever comes first)
Dependent child 22+: 3 years

Important: Undertaking remains valid even if relationship breaks down (divorce, separation). You're still financially responsible.
