Oxford launches first human trial for Lassa fever vaccine
The first volunteer has received a dose of Oxford’s new Lassa fever vaccine, a significant step in combating the deadly virus. The trial, announced by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) on June 6, 2025, will test the vaccine’s safety and immune response. Lassa fever, endemic in West Africa, poses a major public health risk.
