Police rescue kidnap victim and arrest robbery suspects in Nasarawa
A kidnapped woman, Favour Innocent, has been rescued by the Nasarawa State Police Command. The police also arrested 11 suspected armed robbers in separate operations across the state. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, the operations involved collaboration with local hunters and community youths. The Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, praised the efforts of all involved and assured the public of continued action against crime.
What happened
- Favour Innocent was kidnapped from her residence on 03/08/2026 and rescued on 04/08/2026 in Nunku Forest Area, Akwanga.
- She received medical attention at the Primary Health Centre, Andaha, and has been reunited with her family.
- On 04/09/2026, armed robbers invaded a guest house in Area One, Masaka, robbing lodgers of valuables.
- Police arrested nine adult suspects and two minors, recovering weapons, cash, and stolen items.
- The Commissioner of Police directed further investigation and praised the cooperation of police, hunters, and community youths.
