
Police recover fake dollars and luxury jeep in Kaduna
Three suspects have been arrested by the Kaduna State Police Command after several operations targeting criminal activity in the state. The police recovered 332 pieces of suspected counterfeit $100 notes, nine locally made firearms, and two stolen vehicles. DSP Mansir Hassan disclosed that the operations aimed to improve safety for residents and farmers. The police also commended the public for providing valuable information that aided the arrests and recoveries.
What happened
- Hashiru Ibrahim, Mohammed Ibrahim, and Umar Hassan were arrested while allegedly trying to sell a stolen black GMK Jeep worth about N70m for N4m.
- The police recovered a pump-action rifle, nine locally fabricated firearms, and a motorcycle abandoned by fleeing suspects during separate operations.
- One Kabir Yusuf was arrested for possessing 332 pieces of suspected counterfeit $100 notes and six counterfeit N1,000 notes.
- A white Toyota Hilux, reportedly stolen from Niger Republic, was intercepted and recovered in Kaduna, with Abubakar Abdullahi arrested in connection.
- The police said efforts are ongoing to arrest other suspects, including Sahibu Ruhan of Kano State, linked to the counterfeit currency network.
