Police recover fake dollars, arms, and stolen vehicles in Kaduna
The Kaduna State Police Command has intercepted counterfeit US dollars, firearms, and stolen vehicles in several operations across the state. Several suspects, including Hashiru Ibrahim, Mohammed Ibrahim, Umar Hassan, and Abubakar Abdullahi, were arrested in connection with these recoveries. The police also recovered a black GMK Jeep and a white Toyota Hilux, both reportedly stolen. The command credited the success to actionable intelligence from residents and pledged to continue its efforts to ensure safety in Kaduna.
What happened
- Police recovered 332 pieces of suspected counterfeit $100 notes, nine locally fabricated firearms, a pump-action rifle, and two stolen vehicles.
- Three suspects were arrested while allegedly trying to sell a stolen black GMK Jeep worth N70m for N4m after preparing it for dismantling.
- A white Toyota Hilux stolen from Agadez, Niger Republic, was intercepted in Kaduna, and Abubakar Abdullahi was arrested in possession of it.
- Kabir Yusuf was arrested for allegedly possessing counterfeit currencies, including fake US dollars and N1,000 notes, which he reportedly obtained from Sahibu Ruhan, who is currently at large.
- The Commissioner of Police urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities, assuring that the command will sustain its operations and intelligence-led policing.
