
Troops kill terrorists and seize weapons in Zamfara and Kaduna
Troops from the Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, have carried out successful operations against terrorists in Zamfara and Kaduna states. What happened
- Troops from Sectors 1 and 2 of Operation Fansan Yamma conducted operations in Zamfara and Kaduna states on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
- In Zamfara, Sector 2 troops ambushed terrorists moving from the Fakai General Area and neutralised several, recovering weapons including a rocket-propelled grenade launcher and an AK-47 rifle.
- In Kaduna, Sector 1 troops intercepted a vehicle, leading to the discovery of 793 rounds of ammunition hidden in garri after a passenger attempted to flee.
- The vehicle and its driver are in military custody for further investigation, according to Lt Col Aliyu Danja.
- The military emphasised its ongoing commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and restoring peace in affected communities.
