
Police arrest 40 suspects for robbery and kidnapping in Abuja
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has apprehended 40 individuals in Abuja for alleged involvement in traffic robbery, armed robbery, kidnapping, and traffic offences. CP Ahmed Mohammed Sanusi announced the arrests during a press briefing at the command headquarters. The suspects were taken into custody following a review of crime patterns across the territory. Items such as motorcycles, knives, and stolen property were recovered during the operations.

- CP Ahmed Mohammed Sanusi stated that 10 suspects were arrested for alleged traffic robbery, while 20 others were apprehended for various traffic offences.
- Two suspects were arrested in connection with armed robbery incidents in Nyanya and Kubwa, with stolen items recovered from them.
- Two individuals, Godwin Afekhide and Aaron Ogbu, were arrested for allegedly kidnapping three residents of Nyanya, who were later rescued unharmed.
- Six suspects were arrested by the Violent Crime Response Unit Team 1 for allegedly breaking into houses at night and stealing valuables.
