RMAFC finalises revenue sharing review and proposes new salary structure
The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has completed its review of Nigeria’s revenue allocation formula, aiming to create a more equitable system for sharing funds among federal, state, and local governments. Mohammed Shehu, chairman of the commission, also revealed that reviews of remuneration for executive, legislative, and judicial officeholders are either completed or at an advanced stage. The commission has enacted the Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances) Act, 2025, and an executive bill on the Political and Public Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances) Act, 2026 is expected to be sent to the National Assembly. The commission is also intensifying efforts to monitor and improve revenue sources and distribution.
