Navy rescues 22 passengers from sea robbers in Cross River

What happened
- A wooden passenger boat traveling from Henshaw Town Beach in Calabar to Utan Uyata, Ibaka, was hijacked by five armed men after passing the Enwang community.
- The Nigerian Navy, with support from other agencies, launched patrols and set up a blockade, forcing the attackers to abandon the boat and captives at Asak-Ikang Creek.
- Eleven passengers were rescued from the creek, while another eleven who escaped during the attack were later found and debriefed.
- All 22 rescued passengers were given medical evaluation and first aid at the FOB Ibaka Sickbay before being escorted back to Calabar.
