
Police arrest three for alleged ATM card theft in Ekiti
Three men have been arrested by the Ekiti State police for allegedly being part of a syndicate involved in ATM card theft and fraud. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, the suspects were apprehended by the Rapid Response Squad at a bank’s ATM gallery in Ado-Ekiti. The suspects attempted to flee but were intercepted, and multiple ATM cards were found in their possession. The police have urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity at ATM points.

- Timilehin Akinola, Ojo Peter, and Ademola Akinware were arrested by the police Rapid Response Squad in Ado-Ekiti.
- The suspects were found with 16 ATM cards belonging to different individuals and banks.
- They allegedly specialised in hijacking and swapping ATM cards from unsuspecting users at ATM points and withdrawing funds fraudulently.
