Abuja-Kano highway set for completion as government intensifies efforts
The Federal Government has announced that the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano highway project is nearing completion, with a total cost now estimated at N752bn. David Umahi, Minister of Works, stated that over 80 per cent of the cost for the two major sections has already been paid. The project includes the installation of solar-powered streetlights and the deployment of “superhighway guards” to prevent vandalism. Umahi emphasized the economic benefits and job creation resulting from the ongoing infrastructure investments.
