Lagos sees surge in waste truck operations after facility upgrades
The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has reported a significant increase in waste evacuation activities, following recent infrastructure improvements. According to Dr Muyiwa Gbadegesin, the agency recorded 1,866 truck trips across its disposal facilities between 28 July and 3 August 2026. This uptick is attributed to the rehabilitation of the Olusosun Disposal Facility and the addition of new waste disposal platforms.
