
UI opens distance learning for candidates without on-campus admission
The University of Ibadan is offering an alternative admission route for candidates who could not secure on-campus places. Through its Open, Distance and eLearning programme, the university aims to provide more opportunities for qualified students. Prof. Olufade Onifade announced that this special application window targets those affected by space and quota constraints. Several degree programmes are available under this initiative.

- The special application window for the 2025/2026 academic session will close on August 15, 2026, with classes starting on August 17, 2026.
- Prof. Olufade Onifade stated that candidates who took the UI Post-UTME can switch to the ODeL mode of study at no cost.
- The ODeL programme offers first-degree courses such as B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Statistics, B.Sc. Psychology, and more.
