Army detains four over alleged Boko Haram logistics support in Borno
Four suspected collaborators of Boko Haram and ISWAP have been arrested by troops in Yobe and Borno states. According to Capt. Mohammed Goni, the suspects were apprehended during intelligence-led operations targeting terrorist supply routes. The military recovered various items, including drugs, food supplies, and cash, believed to be intended for insurgents. Additionally, 20 suspected family members of terrorists were intercepted while fleeing military offensives.
What happened
- Troops of Operation HADIN KAI arrested two suspected Boko Haram collaborators in Geidam, Yobe State, and two ISWAP logistics suppliers in Monguno, Borno State.
- Items recovered from the suspects included drugs, mobile phones, food items, cash, and other supplies.
- The suspects allegedly confessed to supplying logistics and food to Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists.
- Twenty suspected family members of Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad terrorists were intercepted while fleeing intensified military operations in Borno State.
- All arrested individuals and recovered items have been handed over to military intelligence for further investigation.
