Police crack down on kidnappers and recover stolen goods in Kaduna
Police in Kaduna State have intensified efforts against criminal activities, leading to the neutralisation of kidnappers and the arrest of several suspects. Rabiu Muhammad, the Commissioner of Police, highlighted the recovery of stolen items and counterfeit currency during recent operations. The police also dismantled syndicates involved in gunrunning and kidnapping. Residents have been urged to continue supporting the police with credible information.
What happened
- The Kaduna State Police Command neutralised kidnappers and arrested 16 suspected kidnappers and three suspected gunrunners during operations across the state.
- Rabiu Muhammad reported the recovery of 190 stolen solar inverters, 10 lithium batteries, 10 firearms, 170 counterfeit US dollar notes, and over 400 rustled cattle.
- A 20-year-old woman, Aisha Barau, was arrested while attempting to exchange counterfeit dollars, leading to the apprehension of other syndicate members.
- Three suspected gunrunners, Luka Samuel, John Paul, and Musa Elisha, were arrested in Jos with locally fabricated pistols.
- The police also recovered a stolen Toyota Sienna vehicle and arrested Abdullahi Mohammed (“Aala”), who confessed to masterminding kidnappings and participating in killings.
