Police search for kidnappers after Ogun student abduction
Several students were reportedly abducted from a private hostel in the Ipara area of Ogun State. What happened
- The abduction took place at a private student hostel along Paraga Road, Ipara, where Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Sapaade students reside off campus.
- The Students’ Union Government stated that the gunmen invaded the hostel at about 7:45pm, firing several gunshots but causing no deaths.
- The union confirmed some persons were abducted but said the number of victims remains unverified.
- Babaseyi Oluseyi, the Police Public Relations Officer, said tactical teams and intelligence operatives have been deployed, with bush-combing operations ongoing.
- The union advised students to seek accommodation in secure, populated areas and cautioned the public against spreading unverified information.
