Four arrested in Bauchi over two separate homicide incidents
The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended four suspects linked to two separate homicide cases in the state. According to spokesman SP Nafiu Habib, one person was arrested for the killing of a 25-year-old man, while three others were detained over the death of a 51-year-old man accused of witchcraft. The police are still searching for additional suspects involved in both cases. Commissioner Sani-Omolori Aliyu has condemned the incidents and urged residents to avoid violence.

- SP Nafiu Habib reported that a 25-year-old man, Zahradeen Dan’Azumi Tanko, was fatally stabbed, and the main suspect, Al-Amin Hamisu Gidado, has been arrested.
- The stabbing occurred on July 25 at Unguwan Kur, with another suspect, Yahaya Mu’azu, still at large.
- In a separate case, a 51-year-old man, Monday Chiroma, died after being attacked on suspicion of witchcraft; the incident was reported on July 21.
- Preliminary investigations revealed that the attack on Chiroma and another victim, Yelwa Bango, happened on July 20 following the death of Jamila Anthony, a 20-year-old woman.
- Three suspects—Danjuma Anthony, Ayuba Anthony (also known as Babaru), and Christopher Adamu—have confessed to the offence and are in police custody.
