NDDC trains birth attendants to improve maternal care
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has organized a training workshop for traditional birth attendants in Delta and Bayelsa states. The initiative aims to reduce preventable deaths among mothers and newborns by equipping attendants with updated knowledge and skills. Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, Managing Director of NDDC, emphasized the importance of combining traditional and orthodox medical practices. Over 300 women participated in the programme, receiving both medical equipment and cash support.
