Four FCT police officers face trial for extorting ICPC chairman
Four police officers in Abuja are facing disciplinary action after allegedly extorting ₦52,000 from the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu. The officers reportedly left their assigned posts and conducted an unauthorised traffic stop at Banex Plaza Junction in Wuse II. Commissioner of Police Ahmed Sanusi has ordered their immediate arrest and trial. The FCT Police Command says it is committed to accountability and zero tolerance for misconduct.
What happened
- ASP Clement Ehigala, ASP Sunday Okpe, Inspector Samuel Onoja, and Sergeant Yakubu Emmanuel allegedly abandoned their duty posts for an illegal traffic operation.
