
Police foil abduction and arrest two for cattle theft in Ogun
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two suspects linked to a cattle theft syndicate and recovered six stolen cows in Sagamu. The command, led by spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, also foiled a suspected abduction attempt in a separate operation. The police acted swiftly after receiving distress calls and managed to rescue a victim unhurt. What happened
- Abiodun Kamilu and Adesanya Segun were arrested after allegedly stealing seven cows from a cattle yard in the Maskoli area of Sagamu.
- The police responded to a distress call in the early hours of 25th July, 2026, leading to the recovery of six cows and an abandoned vehicle.
- Investigations are ongoing to apprehend other suspects and recover the remaining cow.
- On July 26, police foiled a suspected abduction attempt at Onigaari along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, rescuing the victim unhurt.
