
Police arrest 16 suspects for crime offences in Ogun State
Ogun State Police Command has apprehended 16 suspects for offences including illegal petroleum dealings, vandalism, burglary, theft, and defilement. The arrests were made during various intelligence-led operations and tactical raids across the state. DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi and Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni highlighted the command’s commitment to combating crime and protecting critical infrastructure. Several stolen items and vehicles were recovered during these operations.

- On July 21, 2026, Saliu Akinwande was arrested for allegedly defiling an 11-year-old girl, and the victim was taken for medical care.
- Kabiru Afolabi was arrested on July 21, 2026, in connection with a suspected diesel bunkering syndicate, with drums of suspected AGO and equipment recovered.
- On July 12, 2026, Nnabike Uzolo and Chino Mgbenya were arrested for allegedly vandalising a telecommunications mast cable in Ota.
- Following a report on July 3, 2026, Mathew Mark was arrested for motorcycle theft, and the stolen motorcycle was recovered.
- In separate operations between July 13 and July 21, 2026, several suspects were arrested for burglary and house-breaking, with stolen items recovered.
