Governors introduce new tool to monitor disease outbreak readiness
The Nigeria Governors’ Forum, working with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Bank, and Resolve to Save Lives Nigeria, has launched a health security scorecard. The initiative aims to help states assess and improve their preparedness for infectious disease outbreaks. Dr Ahmad Abdulwahab and Dr Nanlop Ogburuke highlighted the importance of unified monitoring and state-level action. Health experts believe this tool will support better policy decisions and accountability across all 36 states.
