NYSC offers free medical services to Abia rural community
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has launched a free medical outreach at Umuda-Isingwu Community Hall in Abia State. The initiative, part of the NYSC Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers, aims to bridge healthcare gaps in underserved areas. Alhaji Yunusa Tanimu, the NYSC Abia State Coordinator, highlighted the importance of the programme and praised the support from local partners. Beneficiaries and community leaders commended the outreach for providing much-needed healthcare services at no cost.

- The free medical outreach was held at Umuda-Isingwu Community Hall in Umuahia North Local Government Area.
- Alhaji Yunusa Tanimu said the programme mobilises corps medical personnel and provides services such as general consultation, health screening, dental care, eye examination, immunisation, and health education.
- The outreach is supported by the Chima Anyaso Foundation and local government officials, including Smart Iheoma.
- Dr Marvellous Osarhiaekhimen explained that the team offers primary care and health talks, referring emergencies to FMC.
