New scorecard aims to boost health security in Nigerian states
The Nigeria Governors’ Forum, together with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Bank, and Resolve to Save Lives Nigeria, has introduced a Health Security Scorecard. The initiative is designed to help monitor and improve states’ preparedness for infectious disease outbreaks and public health emergencies. Dr Ahmad Abdulwahab and Dr Nanlop Ogburuke highlighted the importance of unified frameworks and state-level action for effective health security. The scorecard is expected to guide policy decisions and strengthen accountability across all 36 states.
