Court to decide on NDLEA request to destroy meth lab
The Federal High Court in Lagos is set to rule on the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s application to destroy a methamphetamine laboratory found in Ogun State. Justice Musa Kakaki scheduled the ruling after a special court sitting at the facility in Mowe village. The NDLEA claims the lab produced meth worth over ₦480 billion and involved both Nigerian and Mexican suspects. The court heard expert testimony and arguments from both prosecution and defence regarding the destruction of the facility.
What happened

- The NDLEA had on July 10 arraigned three Mexicans and seven Nigerians on charges related to the lab.

- The prosecution presented evidence of chemicals and equipment allegedly used in meth production, with expert testimony from Ajilema Anebi.
- Defence counsel, led by Benson Ndakara, opposed parts of the prosecution’s evidence and exhibits.
