
Police arrest two over baby abduction in Minna
A fake pastor and a woman have been arrested by the Niger State Police Command for allegedly abducting a four-week-old baby in Minna. The arrests followed a report made to the police about the deceitful taking of the infant from its mother. Chidi Johnson, also known as "Yaron Pastor," and Zainab Ibrahim were identified as the suspects. The baby has since been rescued and reunited with the mother.
What happened
- The police received a report at the ‘A’ Division, Minna, on July 14 about a four-week-old baby taken from its mother near Mobil Roundabout.
- Chidi Johnson, 24, was arrested after police used technical intelligence to track him down.
- Johnson confessed that Zainab Ibrahim, 22, had contracted him to procure a newborn after her miscarriage.
- Johnson allegedly lured the mother and baby to Kasuwan-Gwari on July 13 under the pretense of receiving food and alms.
- The suspects are in custody, and the baby has been safely reunited with its mother.
