Borno commissioner shows video of kidnapped students at education summit
The Borno State Government has confirmed receiving a proof-of-life video of students abducted from Government Day Secondary School, Lassa. At the Borno State Education Summit in Maiduguri, Abba Wakilbe, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, played the 15-second video during a presentation. The government is still working to secure the release of the students, who were abducted on June 29. Attacks on schools remain a major threat to education in the state.
