Police arrest three after recovering stolen vehicles in Enugu
The Enugu State Police Command has recovered two vehicles stolen in separate incidents in Imo State. Among them is a Lexus RX 300 SUV that was snatched during an armed robbery in 2018. Three suspects linked to one of the cases have been arrested by the police. SP Daniel Ndukwe and Commissioner Mamman Giwa praised the efforts of the operatives and urged the public to support police investigations.
What happened
- The police recovered a commercial minibus on June 25 after it was snatched from its driver in Okigwe, Imo State, the previous day.
- The suspects abandoned the minibus in Onunweke, Ndeaboh, and fled when they saw the police.
- In a separate operation on June 21, a buyer reported a gold-coloured Lexus RX 300 SUV, which was later confirmed as stolen during an armed robbery in Owerri, Imo State, in 2018.
- Three suspects—Chukwudi Ubani, Uchenna Obaji, and Nnamene Chukwudi—were arrested in connection with the stolen SUV.
- The police advised the public to verify vehicle ownership and register with relevant authorities to help prevent and recover stolen vehicles.
