
Planned grid maintenance to cause power cuts in Kano and nearby states
Residents and businesses in Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Bauchi, and Yobe states are set to experience temporary electricity outages as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) carries out maintenance works. TCN announced that the planned interruption is part of efforts to upgrade the national grid and improve power reliability. The outage will also affect Gazaoua in the Niger Republic, according to a statement by Ndidi Mbah, the company's spokesperson. The maintenance focuses on upgrading equipment at the Kumbotso transmission substation.
