Police detain two suspected cultists and seize gun in Ilorin
Two suspected cultists have been arrested by the Kwara State Police Command during operations targeting criminal groups in Ilorin. The suspects, Abdullahi Jimoh Omotoho and Abdullahi Kareem Kawu (also known as “B-Red”), were apprehended after police received credible intelligence. Authorities recovered a locally made Beretta pistol from one of the suspects. The police say both men are assisting with ongoing investigations into cult-related activities in the state.
What happened
- Abdullahi Jimoh Omotoho, 33, was arrested as a suspected member of the Klans-Avea cult group in Ilorin.
- A locally fabricated Beretta pistol was recovered during the operation.
- Further intelligence led to the arrest of Abdullahi Kareem Kawu (“B-Red”), linked to the Eiye Confraternity.
- Both suspects remain in police custody and are assisting with investigations.
