FCT enrols inmates in new health insurance initiative
The Federal Capital Territory Administration has enrolled 379 inmates from custodial centres in the FCT into the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund Health Insurance Scheme. The initiative aims to improve healthcare access for those in custody and was launched alongside a free medical outreach. According to a statement by the Nigerian Correctional Service, FCT Command, the programme is part of ongoing reforms to include inmates in health insurance schemes nationwide. Officials emphasized that the effort supports both rehabilitation and reintegration for inmates.
