Police say no evidence of assassination attempt at Osun monarch’s palace
The Osun State Police Command has dismissed claims that a man arrested at the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo tried to assassinate the monarch. According to Abiodun Ojelabi, the police spokesperson, investigations found no evidence supporting the allegation. The suspect, Semilola Monday (also known as “Ankara”), admitted to entering the palace unlawfully but denied any intent to harm anyone. The police have urged anyone with more information to come forward as investigations continue.
