Police arrest 29 suspects after Kaduna crime raids
A series of police operations in Kaduna State has led to the arrest of 29 suspects linked to various crimes. The Kaduna State Police Command, led by Muhammad Rabiu, recovered firearms, stolen vehicles, jewellery, and large quantities of drugs. The arrests targeted individuals involved in kidnapping, homicide, car theft, and drug trafficking. Several suspects confessed to their crimes, and investigations are ongoing.
What happened
- Muhammad Rabiu announced the arrest of 12 suspected kidnappers, 13 for homicide, and four car snatchers, with multiple firearms and 2,700 sachets of Tramadol recovered.
- Six suspected bandits were tracked to Sagamu, Ogun State, and arrested with weapons including AK-47 rifles and ammunition.
- One suspect, Yahya Alhaji Yusuf, confessed to kidnapping, cattle rustling, and armed robbery, including collecting ransom from abducted victims.
- Another suspect, Usama Tijjani, admitted to defrauding over 200 women by luring them to hotels and stealing valuables; gold jewellery and 20 phones were recovered.
- Thirteen suspects were arrested over the killing of two people in Katuga Unguwar Ruwa village, while other arrests included drug dealers and a car-snatching syndicate.
