
Police arrest three in Akwa Ibom for theft and drug possession
Officers of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have arrested three suspects in connection with tricycle theft and drug possession. According to a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, the arrests were made during separate intelligence-led operations in Itu Local Government Area and other parts of the state. The suspects include Dominic Edet, Asuquo Etim, and Idorenyin Akpan. The police recovered a stolen tricycle and items suspected to be used for ritualistic purposes.

- Dominic Edet was arrested with a stolen TVS tricycle, following a report by a resident of Afaha Itam.
- Asuquo Etim was apprehended for allegedly purchasing the stolen tricycle, which was reportedly sold for N1.8 million.
- Idorenyin Akpan, aged 21, was arrested during a raid and found with a wrap of crystal methamphetamine, a toy revolver pistol, and other items.
- The police conducted coordinated raids at identified black spots, including Ikot Ekwere Ubium Village.
- CP Baba Azare urged the public to support police efforts with credible information and commended the officers for their professionalism.
