Police arrest two suspects after Mubi robbery incident
Two wanted armed robbery suspects have been apprehended by the Adamawa State Police Command. According to the command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the suspects were arrested by Operation Sanity Mubi following a robbery in Mubi. The suspects, Abdulhamid Salihu (alias Baban Anty) and Bello Yahaya (alias Baban Yambiyu), allegedly attacked Mustapha Ali and stole valuables. The police are intensifying efforts to arrest the remaining accomplices.
What happened
- Abdulhamid Salihu and Bello Yahaya were arrested after a robbery incident that occurred in the early hours of June 10, 2026, at Unguwar Kara, Mubi.
- The suspects, along with two accomplices still at large, allegedly attacked Mustapha Ali, injuring him and stealing cash and valuables.
- Police operatives from Mubi South and Mubi North tracked and apprehended the suspects through intelligence-led operations.
- Recovered exhibits include stolen mobile phones, jewellery, handbags, travelling bags, and weapons used in the crime.
- The Adamawa State Police Command is continuing its investigation and working to apprehend the remaining suspects.
