Police rescue four-year-old boy and arrest two suspected kidnappers in Bauchi
A four-year-old boy, Musa, was rescued by the Bauchi State Police Command after being abducted from his home. The police acted swiftly following a complaint from the boy’s father, leading to the arrest of two suspects, Muhammad Usman and Hayatudeen Ahmad. The suspects are currently in custody and cooperating with investigators. The police commissioner praised the detectives for their professionalism and urged parents to remain vigilant.
What happened
- On 10th June, 2026, the police received a formal kidnapping complaint from the victim’s father, a resident of Gida Dudu Housing Estate, Bauchi.
- Preliminary investigation revealed that on 9th June, 2026, Muhammad Usman lured the boy from his home and took him to Hayatudeen Ahmad’s residence.
- Muhammad Usman deceived Hayatudeen Ahmad by claiming the boy was his sister’s son and that the mother was critically ill.
- A ransom note demanding N5 million was dropped at the victim’s home by the first suspect.
- The child was found alive and unharmed at the second suspect’s house and reunited with his family, while both suspects remain in police custody.
