Police arrest two robbery suspects in Adamawa
Two wanted armed robbery suspects have been apprehended by the Adamawa State Police Command. According to spokesman SP Suleiman Nguroje, the arrests were made by Operation Sanity in Mubi. The suspects, Abdulhamid Salihu and Bello Yahaya, were linked to a recent robbery incident. Police say efforts are ongoing to capture their accomplices.
What happened
- Abdulhamid Salihu (alias Baban Anty) and Bello Yahaya (alias Baban Yambiyu) were arrested after a robbery at Unguwar Kara, Mubi, in the early hours of June 10, 2026.
- The suspects allegedly attacked Mustapha Ali, injuring him and stealing cash and valuables.
- Police operatives from Mubi South and Mubi North tracked and apprehended the suspects through intelligence-led operations.
- Recovered items include stolen mobile phones, jewellery, handbags, travelling bags, and weapons allegedly used in the crime.
- The police are intensifying efforts to arrest the remaining accomplices and have reiterated their commitment to tackling crime in the state.
