
Police detain two suspects for armed robbery in Adamawa
Two armed robbery suspects have been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command in Yola-North. According to the command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the arrests were made by operatives attached to Doubeli Divisional Police Headquarters. The suspects are linked to separate criminal cases, including shop burglary and street robbery. The police say investigations are ongoing to apprehend other accomplices.
What happened
- On 3rd June 2026, police arrested Idris Auwal, 22, for allegedly conspiring with others to burgle a shop at Nassarawo Borehole.
- The suspects stole cash, documents, and shop goods; three accomplices are still at large.
- In a separate incident on 5th June 2026, another suspected Shilla gang member was arrested after robbing Abubakar Abdullahi of a mobile phone and N19,000, and injuring him with a cutlass.
- Police recovered a cutlass, a knife, and the stolen handset from the suspects.
- The command assured the public of ongoing efforts to combat Shilla gangsterism and urged residents to support police investigations.
