Federal Government gives HR officers one year to get certified
The Federal Government has mandated that civil servants in human resource roles across ministries, departments, and agencies must obtain approved professional certifications. According to a circular from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, affected officers have a 12-month moratorium to comply or risk losing eligibility for key HR positions. The directive is part of ongoing reforms to professionalise human resource management in the Federal Civil Service. Previous policies were introduced in August 2023 and March 2024 to further this professionalisation effort.
