
Five die and twelve injured in Ebonyi road accident
A tragic road accident in Ebonyi State has resulted in the deaths of five people, including a female child. According to the Federal Road Safety Corps, the crash involved a commercial bus traveling from Abakaliki to Enugu. Daniel Asanya, the FRSC Sector Commander in Ebonyi, confirmed that the accident happened at the Nkalagu axis of the Enugu–Abakaliki Federal Highway. The cause of the crash was attributed to speed violation.
What happened
- Daniel Asanya stated that the commercial bus had 17 passengers: 12 males, four females, and one female child.
- Five people died in the crash: four males and one female child, while 12 others were injured.
- The accident occurred at Edema Bridge, Nkalagu, in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
- The injured were taken to Annunciation Hospital, Emene, Enugu, and the deceased were deposited in the morgue.
