Police arrest seven for robbery and theft in Ogun
Police in Ogun State have arrested seven suspects in connection with armed robbery, housebreaking, and theft in various areas. According to spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the arrests were made during coordinated operations by different police divisions. Items such as a locally made pistol, stolen electrical appliances, and a knife were recovered. CP Bode Ojajuni praised the police and residents for their roles in the successful arrests.
What happened
- Pelumi Akintonde, Mojeed Sanusi, and Mubarak Lateef were arrested by Sango-Ota Division for alleged armed robbery in Alasia community.
- A locally fabricated cut-to-size pistol and an expended cartridge were recovered from the suspects.
- Damilare Makanjuola was arrested by Owode-Egba Division for alleged housebreaking and theft in Ofada, with links to other burglary incidents in Sun City Estate.
- Tijani Jubril and Ezra Modi were arrested for alleged conspiracy and stealing in Treasure Island Estate, Awo Village; stolen electrical appliances were recovered.
- Waris Adebesin was arrested by Agbado Division for allegedly causing public disturbance and threatening violence near a secondary school, with a knife found in his possession.
