Police arrest suspects and seize drugs in Delta State operations
Three suspected drug traffickers have been arrested by the Delta State Police Command in separate operations. The police recovered large quantities of controlled substances, including Tramadol and other illicit drugs. Obinna Nwosu, Henry Edward, and Okwudili Kingsley were apprehended during these coordinated efforts. The police have urged the public to support ongoing efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks.
What happened
- On June 3, 2026, police intercepted a Mercedes truck at the First Niger Bridge Head, Asaba, driven by Obinna Nwosu.
- A search revealed thousands of sachets of Tramadol, Swinol, Rohypnol, Codeine Phosphate tablets, and MDMA (“Molly”) concealed in the truck.
- In a separate operation on the same day, Henry Edward and Okwudili Kingsley were arrested at Alegbo Community, Owa-Alero, with gallons of “Monkey Tail” and other suspected illicit substances.
- All suspects and recovered exhibits are in police custody while investigations continue.
- Commissioner Yemi Oyeniyi praised the operatives and stressed the importance of community cooperation in fighting drug-related crimes.
