
Three rescued from separate well accidents in Kano
Three people, including an 18-month-old child, were rescued from two separate well accidents in Kano State. The incidents took place in Kumbotso and Warawa Local Government Areas. Maimuna Shitu and her son Harisu Muntari were among those saved, along with an unidentified middle-aged man. The Kano State Fire Service has urged residents to ensure wells are properly covered to prevent such accidents.
What happened
- The Kano State Fire Service rescued three individuals from wells in Kumbotso and Warawa.
- An unidentified man, about 40 years old, was rescued unconscious from a well in Kumbotso and handed over to Salisu Salihu of the Panshekara Police Division.
- In Warawa, Maimuna Shitu and her 18-month-old son Harisu Muntari were rescued unconscious and handed over to Yusuf Surajo and Muhammad Shitu.
- The causes of both incidents are still under investigation.
- The Fire Service director, Alhaji Sani Anas, advised residents to cover wells and monitor vulnerable individuals to prevent future accidents.
