Police arrest two suspected cultists and seize drugs in Jos
Two suspected members of the Sara-Suka cult group have been arrested by the Plateau State Police Command in Jos. The arrests led to the recovery of dangerous weapons and substances suspected to be illicit drugs. SP Alfred Alabo, the command’s Public Relations Officer, stated that these actions are part of ongoing efforts by CP Bassey Ewah to combat crime and drug abuse in the state. Both suspects are currently in custody and under investigation.
What happened
- Adam Abdullahi, 18, was arrested at Gengere, Jos, with a double-edged knife, cult-related attire, and suspected Crystal Methamphetamine ("ice").
- In a separate operation, Khalifa Yusuf, 20, was arrested at 011 Prayer Ground opposite the University of Jos Permanent Site with a knife and dry leaves suspected to be cannabis.
- The arrests were carried out by the Anti-Cyber Crime and Narcotics Unit and the Angwan Rogo Division.
- Both suspects are in custody and will be charged in court after investigations are concluded.
