Police arrest nine over truck diversion, recover stolen goods
Olohundare Jimoh, Assistant Inspector-General of Zone 2 Police Command, announced the arrest of nine suspects linked to truck diversion syndicates in Lagos and Ogun states. The police recovered goods worth over N60 million, including chemicals and dairy products. According to Jimoh, the suspects collaborated with truck drivers to divert goods in transit and sell them illegally. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicates.

- Two 45,000-litre trucks loaded with molasses chemicals, valued at N11 million each, were diverted, with one intercepted at Itokin, Lagos, and the other recovered at Ogere trailer park, Ogun.
- Another syndicate diverted a trailer of dairy products worth about N28 million from Sagamu to Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, before police recovered the goods.
- Jimoh assured residents that the police would continue efforts to combat economic sabotage and promised the suspects would be arraigned after investigations.
