
Five arrested in Gombe for motorcycle and phone theft
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Gombe State has apprehended five suspects linked to motorcycle and electronic gadget theft. According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Buhari Saad, the suspects were involved in separate syndicates operating across the state. The NSCDC recovered stolen items including motorcycles and electronic devices. CC Jibrin Idris, the State Commandant, emphasized the agency’s dedication to combating crime and urged residents to stay vigilant.
What happened
- Haruna Hamman, 19, allegedly stole a Boxer motorcycle from Adamu Buba on April 15, 2026, which was later recovered by NSCDC officers.
- Nura Adamu, 29, was caught with a stolen Jinchen Kasea motorcycle that had passed through several buyers before recovery.
- The Command also arrested Ishiyaka Ahmed, 20, for breaking into Mubarak Salihu’s residence in February 2026 and stealing laptops, routers, and power banks.
- Investigations are ongoing to apprehend other suspects, including Yusuf and Amir, who are currently at large.
- CC Jibrin Idris reaffirmed the NSCDC’s commitment to ensuring safety and urged the public to report suspicious activities.
