FG starts paying overdue scholarships to students abroad
The Federal Government has started paying outstanding allowances to beneficiaries of the Bilateral Education Agreement Scholarship Programme studying in partner countries. The Federal Ministry of Education announced that the Central Bank of Nigeria has remitted the approved funds to Nigerian embassies for immediate disbursement. Dr Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, said the released funds cover 50 per cent of the approved outstanding obligations for 2025. The payments are expected to bring relief to affected scholars and reflect President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to student welfare.
