Teachers in Osun receive training to combat FGM and boost sex education
A non-governmental organisation, Action Health Incorporated, has teamed up with the Osun State Government to train 45 secondary school teachers on Comprehensive Sexuality Education and the fight against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). The training, supported by the United Nations Population Fund, aims to equip teachers to educate students and promote healthy practices. Mrs Uzoma Ayodeji from UNFPA highlighted the importance of teachers in reaching more young girls and accelerating efforts to end FGM. Community leaders and stakeholders also pledged their commitment to eradicating FGM in the state.
