Kano to provide free healthcare for 6,000 tuberculosis patients
Dr. Rahila Mukhtar, Executive Secretary of the Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA), has announced plans to enroll 6,000 tuberculosis patients in a vulnerable healthcare scheme. The initiative aims to improve access to treatment and reduce the spread of tuberculosis in Kano State. Sunusi Hashim, Coordinator of the Society for Child Support and Economic Empowerment, praised the move and called for continued collaboration among stakeholders. Kano State reportedly has one of the highest tuberculosis burdens in Nigeria.
