- The Anambra State Police Command raided a secessionist camp in Owerre-Ezukala, recovering arms including a General Purpose Machine Gun, rocket launchers, and explosives.
- CP Ikioye Orutugu stated that the camp had been previously destroyed but some gang members tried to regroup.
- Suspects arrested include Nnamdi Ogbonna, allegedly a top commander of the proscribed group, and Favour Izunna (“Njoku”), linked to cult killings.
- Police also arrested Chinazo Winners Anyasirikwu for alleged child trafficking, rescuing 12 children believed to be victims.
- The command has secured the remand of five suspects over sexual offences and child abuse, and pledged to continue operations against criminality in the state.
